The Asher-Solomon Centre for Development is a paediatric therapy centre providing occupational therapy and speech and language therapy for children and teenagers aged 2 to 19. Continuing the values and ethos of Winstedt Integrated Therapy, the Centre believes in empowering every child to reach his or her potential.
Working in partnership with parents, teachers, medical practitioners and the community, our team of internationally accredited therapists develop holistic, targeted and individualised programmes in a safe, structured and nurturing environment.
Our ‘occupations’ form the basis of our daily routines. A child’s occupation involves learning, playing and acquiring self-care skills. Occupational therapy supports mastery of ordinary, meaningful everyday activities, which pose a challenge for some children. At Asher-Solomon, we look at each child holistically, helping him or her achieve optimal success, independence and confidence through interesting and enjoyable evidence-based therapeutic activities. Occupational therapy’s unique approach to intervention also addresses a child’s performance of occupations at home, school and within the community.
Communication is the foundation of our relationships. Speech and language therapy aims to assist children to communicate their wants and needs, develop enjoyable relationships with others and achieve successful participation in society, socially and academically. At Asher-Solomon, we support each child to unlock the linguistic world around them, taking into consideration your child’s unique interests and skills to make therapy fun and engaging.
